VCSC Daily - Markets retreat on first session of the year – Gold gap jumps to VND3mn/tael

Returning from the long weekend, sentiment failed to improve for the year’s first trading session. Despite strong manufacturing data from China and most Asian index rallying today, Vietnam local stock markets ended in the negative territory. Trading activity remained sparse after the New Year’s holiday as liquidity slumped on both bourses. Affected by the c.12% adjustment on ACB’s stock price after the ex-dividend day, the HNX suffered its biggest single day loss of 3.32% since May 2011, retre
