VCSC Daily - Heavy-weights Spoil Welcome Back Party
VNI surprisingly closes in the red. The VNI was set to open the New Year with a moderate gain but was spoiled in the at-the-close session. In fact, a lot of the tickers remained in green, proven by the number of gainers outstripping laggards by three folds. However, selling pressure on the large caps, especially from BVH, GAS and VIC in the final minutes of trading sent the main index into red after sitting on an almost 1% gain intraday. The VNI finally settled at 494, retreating 0.1 points.
